ACT Math 26–30 band
Closing accuracy gaps and starting to attack the back half.
What's actually holding you back here
In the 26–30 band, you can solve most items if you have time but you're losing points to a combination of careless errors and one or two killer items per test that you don't recognize. Time pressure becomes the dominant constraint here.
The three highest-leverage topics for this band
- Trigonometry — High-leverage because trig items cluster at the back of the section and reward pattern recognition.
- Intermediate Algebra — The hard quadratic and function items in the back of the section.
- Coordinate Geometry — Conic-section items and harder slope/distance items live here.
The plan
Four-week plan: one week each on trigonometry, hard intermediate algebra, and coordinate geometry hard items, plus one week of full-test pacing under realistic conditions.
What success looks like
Success looks like a 31. From there, the 30+ plan kicks in.
What to skip
Skip anything you can already do at 95%+ accuracy. The points are in the back half.
